Nature is for Everyone
Started in 2016, My Outdoor Colorado (MOC) is a coalition of 8 partner agencies working to increase outdoor opportunities for youth and families in Denver’s Cole & Westwood neighborhoods. Through collaboration, resources are shared and barriers to accessing nature and outdoor programs are reduced. Community Connectors lift resident voice, Family Nature Clubs build confidence and skills, a Youth Advisory & Action Council and workforce development programs empower future leaders, and numerous other outdoor programs introduce residents to a variety of outdoor activities spanning from the backyard to the backcountry.
Greenway’s Role
As a founding member of MOC, TGF supports the coalition’s mission in a variety of ways:
FREE Programs for Cole & Westwood Youth and Families
- SPREE Excursions for elementary classes
- Greenway Leadership Corps events for teens
- Annual Family Campout & Cookout events at Johnson Habitat Park
Community Events
TGF leads activities at many coalition-led & sponsored events each year, including Spring into Summer, Safe Summer Kickoff, and HarvestSHARE.
Staff Engagement
TGF staff serve on a number of coalition committees and in leadership roles supporting daily operations, strategic planning, and sustainability.
