Last weekend, the Greenway Leadership Corps (GLC) welcomed many new and returning students on our excursion out of the wind and into the beloved Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Entrance to the museum was free for all of the students who joined us, along with free tickets to a movie in the incredible IMAX theater. With sack lunches in hand (provided by the Greenway Foundation!), we headed into the museum and straight to the theater to view “T-REX 3D.” We put on our glasses and sat in awe as we watched the life of a t-rex and, even more fun, we saw the journey of a paleontologist from the museum who uncovered a t-rex fossil alongside three young boys. After the movie, we poured into the museum. We saw many exhibits in our search for the fabled secret gnomes, and had some success! We were also lucky enough to see the new temporary exhibit, Brick Planet: A magical journey made with LEGO® bricks, where animals and environments were rendered in life-size LEGO® sculptures. It was incredible to see such thoughtful and creative environmental artwork. A huge thank you to the Greenway Foundation’s own Executive Director Ryan Aids for driving participants and joining us on this excursion!
