On Friday June 20th the GLC team set made their way up to Evergreen lake to learn how to Kayak with the help of Denver Parks and Rec. We started the day with a safety talk and getting fitted with life jackets. Once we had life jackets on it was time to learn how to use our paddles.

We were the ready to get in the water! While getting in and out of the kayak was a little frightening once we were on the water it was so much fun. We were able to play some games and learn new tricks. Most of the participants were able to sping in circles and win some races! While we had a lot of fun playing it was also fun to be able to relax on the water and admire the beautiful view and nature.
After a long day of fun we drove back to Johnson Hsbitat park where we joined the yearly campout. We had some dinner over the fire and even got to make smores! After all that we had to work off the food so we joined uo with other families and played volleyball until it was too dark to see. We then hung out and talked until we were ready to sleep. We then camped at JHP beefore heading home on Saturday morning.

Big shout out to DPR for their help with this event. I cant wait for our next GLC event where we will go Trail building!
