The Greenway Leadership Corps (GLC) climbed into November with a day of rock climbing at Hobbs Peak. Denver Parks & Recreation gave us excellent guides who outfitted us and led us to a beautiful mountain location in the trees. It was the perfect place for us to learn the ropes!

Throughout the day, our courage and strength were put to the test, we faced fears, discovered new skills, and had a great time! Everybody was so supportive of each other throughout the day. People called out advice when others were struggling, encouraged each other to try more difficult things, and celebrated their achievements together.

We were able to rest and recuperate in the warm, fresh fall air while enjoying the GLC staples of free lunch and good company. We are so grateful to our Denver Parks & Recreation guides for being such supportive and encouraging hosts. Their guidance, plus the lunch and gear provided by GLC, meant everybody was able to focus on making the most out of the experience.

As with all GLC events, this event was free and open to all high school students. Those who joined us got to safely step out of their comfort zones and feel accomplished while enjoying good views and great company. We all left with more stories, confidence, good memories, and time in the outdoors than we had before. We cannot wait to see you all next time!
