Barb Biggs
Memorial Scholarship Fund
Barbara Biggs lived up to her name; she was bigger than life!
Her passing was sudden and left a huge hole in the water community. The Barb Biggs Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide financial assistance to students working in or pursuing a career in Colorado’s water industry.
Through the Barb Biggs Memorial Scholarship Fund Barb’s legacy will live on while empowering others to leave their mark on Colorado’s water community as she did.
Barb Biggs’ Lasting Legacy
Barb served the public for over 30 years in roles at Denver’s Metro Water Recovery, Roxborough Water and Sanitation District and serving communities through private sector work.
Barb was a leader on a number of Boards, Commissions and Councils dedicated to providing clean and abundant water to Colorado communities including:
- The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB)
- Colorado Water Quality Control Commission (WQCC)
- Colorado Water & Wastewater Facility operator Certification Board
- CWCB Metro Basin Roundtable
- Colorado Water Trust Board of Directors
- Advisory Council member for One World One Water (OWOW) Center for Metropolitan State University
- National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA)
Barb’s leadership was so impactful that she was inducted into the National Association of Clean Water Agencies’ Hall of Fame.
But, you’d never know any of this from talking to Barb. She was humble and more interested in making things happen than taking credit for anything. She was a pioneer for women wanting to have a career in the water industry and encouraged all interested young people by mentoring them, providing job leads and advice.
