Family Fishing Recap 2015

Picture

FAMILY FISHING DAY
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2015

Over 130 people attended this year’s Family Fishing Day at Overland Pond Park. The day started off with a quick fishing tutorial provided by the 13 staff and volunteers of Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK). Families learned how to hold a pole, cast, and tell others around when they caught a fish by yelling “Fish On!” SPREE staff also had a table where kids could feel a real beaver pelt and shift through the sand to find macroinvertebrates. At the end of the day, everyone got to take home a fishing pole provided by ELK!

We would also like to thank Matt Gregory the Denver Department of Parks and Recreation and Donny Roush (and his daughter!) from Earth Force for tabling at this event and making it even better!
