WATR Program

Greenway’s partnerships get big results. Right now, The Waterway Resiliency (WATR) Program is transforming natural ecosystems, and reducing flood risk, and creating places where people and nature can thrive in harmony.

Greenway’s Projects Revitalize Our River

If it Takes a Village to Raise a Child – It Takes a City to Save a River!

Over the last 15 years, The Greenway Foundation has partnered with numerous public, private, philanthropic, and political partners to realize the following projects.  Each project has, to one extent or another, the four benefit goals of any and all river projects – environmental, recreational, water quality, and flood control.

Greenway’s Projects Transform Our Community

Executive Director, Mile High Flood District

Successful partnerships are about leveraging each other's strengths to reach a shared vision. A great visionary established both TGF and MHFD, Joe Shoemaker, to complement each other in making our communities safer and stronger through engaging our waterways. TGF brings passion, awareness, and stakeholders to the table while MHFD works directly with local governments on management and implementation. Together we are able to accomplish holistic solutions that revitalize rivers and reconnect communities to protect people, property, and our environment.
