Over 25 Years of Stewardship Events
Stewardship Days are community-based events focused on enhancing the South Platte River and riverside parks. Volunteers help remove plant debris, restore crusher fine trails, repair and paint park fixtures, and remove trash from our local parks. Each year at Greenway Stewardship Events, over 2,000 volunteer hours are dedicated to Denver’s public parks.
Upcoming Stewardship Events
Stewardship Events For Everyone
Restore parks along the South Platte River at Pacifico Preserves South Platte Stewardship Days. Our Stewardship Days are filled with meaningful volunteer work such as assisting with trash removal, trail repair, painting, graffiti removal, tree protection, removing invasive weeds, and more. Check the specific event to learn more about what volunteers will be doing that day and how you can be prepared to help.
The Greenway Foundation partners with Denver Parks and Recreation to select a park location and projects with the greatest need. Stewardship Days have been hosted all along the South Platte River over the last three decades. Come join us for the next opportunity to revitalize our river.
Stewardship Projects for Groups
TGF has river cleanup opportunities for corporate groups, religious groups, youth programs, and other entities! We can accommodate around 30 volunteers and we have several riverside parks that could use your help.
Please reach out to info@greenwayfoundation.org if you are interested in helping out our river with a groups of friends or coworkers!
Family Stewardship Events
If you love parks, love the river. People of all ages can make a difference and help ensure we take care of the South Platte River. That’s what being a good steward means. SPREE hosts family-friendly volunteer events at least twice a year to pick up trash in and along the river. Our expert educators make it a fun and rewarding time for everyone. Afterwards, we’ll come together for crafts and activities. Adults must attend with children under 12.
Check out our Events listings for the next Family Stewardship Day. Don’t see one upcoming? Subscribe to our newsletter to receive notifications about Stewardship opportunities and other events.
Stewardship Opportunities for Youth
The Greenway Foundation gets high school students excited to become environmental stewards in Greenway Leadership Corps (GLC). Any Denver high school student is welcome to join, and events are always free. Youth are ready to take on larger stewardship projects such as trail building events, clearing trash from a park, or leading other conservation efforts. GLC makes events meaningful and fun.
Greenway Leadership Corps hosts monthly adventures for participants.
Safety & Health Precautions
We care about creating a safe environment for all of our programs and events. See our health and safety page for up-to-date information on safety protocols.
