It was a warm, sunny day for Art on the River this past Saturday at City of Cuernavaca Park. For the last two years, this event has ended early or been cancelled due to bad weather. But this year, the SPREE staff was excited to welcome over 50 people to the park! Families planted native wildflower seeds, made leaf rubbings, built twig teepees, completed an obstacle course, and explored the park for natural inspiration!
We also had 5 high school students come and help out at the event as part of our Greenway Leadership Corps (GLC) program. This group meets monthly to complete a service project, learn about the environmental and potential careers, and to have fun! Thanks to their assistance we were able to accommodate event more families at the event.
