Meet Our New SPREE Staff!

Picture

The SPREE team is so excited to announce our new staff of SPREE environmental educators for the year 2022!! Chompers, our beaver boss, worked hard the past few months to find and train our new educators, Jack, Jillian, Lexi, Sam, and Kim. The SPREE educators spent a week training with Chompers, learning all about our beautiful South Platte River, and studying the curriculum so we can teach young students of Denver about the river that connects us all. Here’s some fun facts about our new educators and why they are excited to be a part of SPREE, but you can also find more information in their bio’s on our staff page.

Meet Jack! Jack is excited to work with SPREE because he wants to encourage kids to get outside and explore nature. Jack favorite Colorado native animal is an Abert’s Squirrel! So cool!
Say hello to Jillian! Jillian is stoked to be a SPREE educator because she wants to play a role in connecting people to the natural spaces that exist in our backyards! If you find Jillian hiking on a trails, you’ll likely find her snacking on some GORP (good ol’ raisins and peanuts), yummy!

Meet Lexi! She is excited to be a part of the SPREE team because she loved the environmental education she got to experience as a kid, and wants to be a part in inspiring other kids to be excited about nature. What’s Lexi’s favorite Colorado native animal you may ask? Well a Bison of course!
Say howdy Sam! Sam is jazzed to be a SPREE educator because he wants to help other kids have the same amount of fun (or maybe even more) that he had when he went on SPREE fields trips as a kid! Sam loves to hike, and his favorite snack for the trail is peanut butter and pretzels!

Say hello to Kim! Kim is so excited to be a SPREE educator because kids are SO smart and can be great stewards for the environment! She’s excited to teach kids about our local environment so they feel more connected and empowered to treat it well. Kim’s favorite trail snack is a PB&J that has been smooshed under the rest of her backpack contents. Sounds delicious!
