Over 150 people braved the cold, wet morning to join us for our Fall RiverSweep Events on September 23rd! Between the Fall RiverSweep presented by Noble Energy and L.L. Bean and the Publication Printers Fall Family RiverSweep, we filled an entire 30 cubic yard dumpster full of trash and plant debris! Volunteers also painted park structures to protect them for the winter. Families were also able to participate in games and crafts with our SPREE Staff!
Our Greenway Leadership Corps (GLC) also hosted a special in-stream clean up for 20 high school students with cityWILD. Students rocked boots and waders to get into the River to pull out trash and plant debris that was clogging up this urban waterway, and then got to practice their rafting skills!
Thank you to the Denver Parks Department for coordinating volunteers and projects!
Thank you to all of our volunteers who came out, and to the sponsors for making these events possible!
Mark your calendars for our Spring RiverSweep: Saturday, April 21st, 2018!.
