We hosted our first-ever In-Stream Trash Pick-Up this week, and it was a huge success! 🎉 Sixteen dedicated volunteers came together for an evening of giving back, networking, and enjoying some well-deserved food and drinks—all in the name of protecting our beloved South Platte River.
Making an Impact
The event kicked off with an hour of in-stream and riverside trash collection near REI. Volunteers put on water shoes and got to work, collecting over 100 gallons of trash from the river and its banks! The energy was high, and it was amazing to see so many young professionals stepping up to preserve this vital part of our ecosystem.
A Night of Fun & Networking
After the clean-up, we headed back to our office for some well-earned refreshments. With cold beers in hand and delicious dinner provided by Fire on the Mountain, everyone had a chance to relax, connect, and share stories of their experience. It was the perfect combination of meaningful work and casual fun, with a strong sense of community at its core.
The event wasn’t just about cleaning up the river—it was also about building connections. Young professionals from all walks of life came together, bonded by their shared commitment to the environment and their desire to make a difference locally.
Looking Forward
This event is just the beginning! We’re eager to continue hosting more gatherings that combine stewardship with socializing, giving more people a chance to engage with our mission to protect and preserve the South Platte River.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success! Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved with The Greenway Foundation, and let’s keep making a positive impact—together!
