This month we visited CSU Spur for their second Saturday free event. CSU Spur is open to the public on the second Saturday of very month. CSU Spur has 3 different buildings, the terra building, hydro building and the vida building.
The Terra Building
The terra building taught us all about plants and how they grow. They offer bread making and an experiment that shows how yeast works. This building was very diverse because it offered an opportunity to learn about crops and the way they impact our living but also how important animals are to our crops. We even got to hold roaches and learn more about their behaviors.
The Hydro Building
The hydro building had a variety of activities, We were able to take a look at the different kind of macros and their specific behaviors. They offer a section of Native American history and interactive games. We were also able to test areas for bacterias and look at isolated bacteria which can be different colors. The hydro building even had live music and music classes. Talk about variety!
The Vida Building
The Vida building was also very diverse! We were able to experience virtual reality looking at the anatomy of a dog. We were actually able to watch live surgery on a cat who was being spayed. Not only were we able to watch the surgery but someone explained what was happening and answered all of ur questions. We even got to see horses being trained. Overall it was an amazing and diverse experience.
