This year SPREE is offering 3 unique themes over 6 weeks, featuring exciting guests, engaging activities, and lots of time by the River. Be sure to mark these dates in your calendar and subscribe to our emails to stay informed on all things SPREE Camp.
Program Changes
After careful consideration and planning, this year’s SPREE Summer Camps will be limited to a duration of 6 weeks. Because of the new structure, here are the most significant changes:
Camp Hours 8:00am – 9:00am — Drop off 9:00am – 2:30pm — Summer Camp Activities 2:30pm – 3:30pm — Pick up 3:30pm – 4:30pm — After Care (additional cost) |
Repeated Camp Themes: 6 Weeks, 3 Themes This year, SPREE will have 3 unique themes over 6 weeks. That means each theme is run two times over the summer. Campers are allowed to attend more than one camp with the same themes. However, camps with the same theme/title have identical curriculum and activities. We are not required to notify you if registering campers for camps with the same title. Transfers are not guaranteed. |
Priority Registration
With fewer weeks of summer camp, we know it will be harder than ever to get your camper signed up for the camp week you want. Because of this, we are offering a tiered priority registration system based on your level of monthly giving through the FrOG program. Through this, you can receive priority Camp registration up to a week early with your membership. You must become a FrOG by January 12, 2024 to receive priority registration.
January 12 | Last day to become a FrOG and receive priority registration |
January 29 | Registration opens for Creek Crusaders & River Rescuers FrOG monthly donors |
January 31 | Registration opens for Stream Savers FrOG monthly donors |
February 2 | Registration opens for Water Warrior FrOG monthly donors |
February 5 | Registration CLOSES for all FrOG donors |
February 12 | Registration opens to the public |
May 1 | Refund window closes. Any cancellations starting May 1 will not be refunded. Cancellations before May 1 can be refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee. |
SPREE’s Leaders in Training (LIT) Program
If your camper is in 6th – 9th grade, they may be eligible for our LIT Program, where middle schoolers learn valuable leadership skills at camp. The LIT program is for former campers who have aged out of our camp program, but want to stay involved. We take their previous experience and current interest in the environment and give them leadership opportunities in our camp programs. Applications are due January 15 for new and returning LITs for 2024 SPREE Camps. |
Scholarship Applications
At The Greenway Foundation, we believe the river is for everyone and don’t think cost should be a barrier to attending our SPREE programs. We encourage families who need some help in order to participate to apply for a scholarship. Scholarship applications for 2024 SPREE Camps are open. Visit our website to apply. |
Pricing
Fees
Campers: $385
Leaders In Training: $320
After Care: $100
Fees are per child, per week.
A note on our pricing:
We have had to increase our pricing because of the increase in costs across the board. We know that can be difficult for many families, so we do offer scholarships. You can apply for a SPREE scholarship, and you can also contribute to our SPREE scholarship fund here.
We also wanted you to know that SPREE, as part of the Colorado 501c3 non-profit organization The Greenway Foundation, does not profit from our summer camps. In order to deliver the value and quality that you and your family have come to expect in a camp experience, these price increases are necessary.
Please be assured that this decision was made with the utmost consideration for the safety and well-being of all participants. We remain dedicated to providing a memorable and enriching experience for your children during the six weeks of SPREE Summer Camps.
