Spring River Sweep
Volunteers absolutely rocked the 2016 CH2M Spring RiverSweep presented by The Nature Conservancy, Miller Coors, and Noble Energy on Comcast Cares Day Saturday, May 7th.
Despite the reschedule date due to snow, and the cold rain on May 7th, nearly 300 dedicated volunteers still came out to Fishback Park and donated over 450 of hours to our local parks!

Over 45 cubic yards of plant debris was removed, 50 trees were trimmed and protected with mulch, and 70 large bags of trash were removed from 5 parks along the South Platte River! The Greenway Foundation is so amazed at the level of commitment of the volunteers and sponsors who made this event a success despite the difficulties presented by Mother Nature!
Thank yous go out to the Downtown Aquarium for letting volunteers park in their lot again this year and to the Platte Valley Trolley for getting volunteers to their project sites!
FAMILY RIVERSWEEP AND ART ON THE RIVER
Family RiverSweep and Art on the River was also held down at City of Cuernavaca Park on Saturday, May 7th. Cold rain cut the events a little short, but over 20 families came out to help pick up trash along the South Platte River, and participate in some nature inspired art! SPREE Staff helped kids create nature magnets, clay molds of natural materials, and pine cone bird feeders! That you to Little Man Ice Cream for donating tasty treats to the event!
