Family Fishing Day 2022

October 8, 2022 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

A parent helps their child learn to fish in Overland Pond at Family Fishing Day

Try Fishing With Your Family

The Greenway Foundation is excited to partner with Denver’s Stormwater Education and Outreach Program and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to host Family Fishing Day! This program provides an exciting day of fishing at Overland Pond Park along the South Platte River.  Kids will learn about fishing etiquette, fishing safety, fish anatomy, and fishing techniques. Fishing rods and supplies will be provided by CPW.

The event starts at 10am. SPREE and CPW staff will be in the park until noon to help with fishing, and then families are encouraged to stay in the park for as long as they’d like! This event is designed for children aged 3-12, but children of all ages are invited.

This event is FREE but space is limited & prior registration is required!*

Event Details

You will receive a confirmation email upon registration, and will receive another email about a week prior to the event with important day-of information. There will be a waitlist for the event when we reach capacity. Waitlist members will be sent an email with instructions so you can still complete our fun activities on your own!
