Family Fishing Day

October 8 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

A parent helps their child learn to fish in Overland Pond at Family Fishing Day

Try Fishing With Your Family

The Greenway Foundation is excited to partner with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to host Family Fishing Day! This program provides an exciting day of fishing at Overland Pond Park along the South Platte River.  Kids will learn about fishing etiquette, fishing safety, fish anatomy, and fishing techniques. Fishing rods and supplies will be provided by CPW.

The event starts at 10am. SPREE and CPW staff will be in the park until noon to help with fishing, and then families are encouraged to stay in the park for as long as they’d like! This event is designed for children aged 3-12, but children of all ages are invited. â€‹

This event is FREE but space is limited & prior registration is required!*

Event Details

You will receive a confirmation email upon registration, and will receive another email about a week prior to the event with important day-of information. There will be a waitlist for the event when we reach capacity. Waitlist members will be sent an email with instructions so you can still complete our fun activities on your own!

Safety & Health Precautions

We care about creating a safe environment for all of our programs and events. See our health and safety page for up-to-date information on safety protocols.

Food Web Frenzy

On Monday we got to know all of our fellow campers and their favorite foods/ food groups as we began to weave our way through food webs. We learned who eats whom in our local and river ecosystems and got to experience it first hand down in the river at Critter Crawl.  On Tuesday we …
