We had an absolute blast at our stewardship day this past Saturday. Who knew picking up trash could be so fun! We started the day getting to know each other with a name game, sharing a fun fact about ourselves and seeing who shares that with us. We then got to work and started walking down the trail next to the South Platte River. We were able to pick up 25-30 trash bags and even more big trash, so big we couldn’t fit it all in our dumpster!
Lets not forget about the Micro trash. A lot of micro trash can be bad for our river because fish and other animals can think its food and eat it. The high schoolers did a great job at keeping them safe and picked up a whole doggy bag of micro trash. We had 18 participants and even some of their parents helping us make a change in Johnson Habitat Park.
